I love October in Dallas. Not only do I celebrate the fact that I am not sweating walking from my front door down to car, I donno if this common with most or that I am just one nasty heavy sweater, but in the summer I am required to think thoroughly about what I wear for the day. I don't think sweat stains are real cute nor the next best trend. Although, i do have clients that swear they are going to invent the "workout proof t-shirts." You know basically, they could slip the t-shirt on with sweat stains already designed into it in order to prove that they have had a good workout, so then they won't feel as guilty when they half-ass it and hit the burger joint right after leaving the gym. Hey, if someone steals that idea, you might as well line up behind my fierce friends / clients, I don't play around with their workouts and they might bite!
Ok, back at my original thought, OCTOBER. So many great things about this month. My late uncle, Uncle Hal used say how great brunettes look in the fall. Personally, I think its cause in our family we don't yet look washed out, we still hold a little tan and our figures haven't been disturbed too much by the holiday goodies (don't lie, you know we all fall VICTIM). My plan is to be out in this gorgeous weather as much as possible, both training and leisure. There are some pretty cool festivals /events / and the obvious choice for Texans- The State Fair of Texas (or what I love to call the fried goodness of Texas). This fall and winter may be different from years past with the economy the way it is, but that is still a poor excuse for not enjoying places like the lake where you can take a long walk / bike ride/ dang throw the ball with your dog, make them do all the work. But take a picnic, sneak your vino in your little red solo cup (oops, did i just admit that) and reserve some time to be outside getting your daily need of vitamin D. Yes, I just found a way to condone and encourage excessive amounts of time spent outdoors, so all you with pale skin folks and OCD candidates, lather up your spf, and hike it out the door... no excuses... Dallas only offers about a month or so of this kind of weather in the fall! Sooner or later, we will all have the excuse to stay indoors, snuggle up next the the honey, and eat our tasty treats, for the oh so chilling 30 degree weather is not far (do you hear my sarcasm and comic relief at our necessity to have perfect weather for us to be outdoors)... as my aunt would say, BOOK IT BUDDY!
